MS Office 97 Over-typing?

A

Art

Until recently when editing in Office 97 if I hit the insert key I could
type-over the already existing text. This seems to gone away and everything
I type now gets inserted prior to the already existing text?

I have gone into tool/options/edit and Type-over text is checked. (I am not
at all sure this is what I am supposed to be changing)?

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks

Hi Art,

There was an issue on this with Office 97 that was
resolved by installing Office 97 Service Release 1

This article has a workaround method, although SR1
is recommended as it addressed a number of other issues
as well.

Thanks Bob,
Installing SR-1 did it.
I did notice there were several other updates for Office 97/98, (ie; SR-2,
SR-2b). I guess I'm a bit behind the times...Art
