MS Office and Spellchecker problem

Hello,

A user using Office 2000 on Win2000 says that when they
have several MS Office windows open (Word, Excel, etc.),
suddenly, in Word, the spellchecker will start scanning
the document over and over and he can't get it to stop
except to "End the task" in Task Mgr. This is only when
multiple windows are open.

Any ideas?

Does this mean the spell-checker dialog is appearing and automatically
jumping from word to word?

Questions
1. are you up to date with service packs for Office?
2. have you scanned the computer for viruses?
