I believe it was after I had installed one of the Windows
service packs that all the icons associated with the MS
Office applications, and the documents that I had created
with them, disappeared. Now I see the standard .exe icon
for all the office applications (Word, Access, Excel,
etc...) and a general datafile icon for all my .doc
and .xls files. When I go into folder options to attempt
to assign the proper icons, it shows that they are
properly assigned. When I click to change the assigned
icon, I get an error telling me that te installer cannot
find the wordicon.exe file (in the case of the .doc file
extention icon assignment), and I have been unable to find
a wordicon.exe download anywhere on the internet. Can
anyone tell me how to solve this problem? Thank you.
