MS Office for MAC will not launch

Hello everyone.
I have been happily using MS office for mac (2004) for a year without
problems.
My mac is Imac G5 4.1, 2Ghz Intel core duo, 1G memory, 667 Mhz DDr2,
SDRAM

Suddenly without warning the office suite of programs do not launch.
It gives a couple of bobs in the dock and then shrinks to nothing.
I tried to restart, the machine froze.
I turned off the power and pushed the on switch.
I got really scared when on the first 2 attempts at starting the
apple logo did not show, the 3rd time everything started up OK.
office still did not work.
I restrated - nothing. I dragged preferences to desk top - nothing

Then came the big shock I tried to launch office uninstall but that
would not lauch either!

Then a bigger shock, I dragged all the MS office files I could find to
to the trash and tried to launch installer - nothing

I dragged the application to the application folder, copied it there ,
tried to launch - nothing

All other soft ware launches without issue.

Office works fine on the Windows partition using Bootcamp.

Can anyone help me??

thanks

Hi,
Oh dear, you did it worst that it was, Anyway I§m sure you would be abe to
solve it here.
Just mention that removing office will hardly solve any problem on Mac and
turning me down like you did to your Mac - I would also dislike.

Ok now I think, your HDD would need a check. So my 1st advice would be to
find your OS CD and run the disk utility first - run the verify/repair disk.
(Not the verify permition)

2nd find your office CD, put it into your Macand find there application
called Remove Office and run that. Post back with your results, I have to go
now, will look back soon, and good luck.

Did you recently update your OS with the QT 7.2 updater? This has caused all
sorts of havoc that sounds like what you are describing.

Apple has posted KB 306043 Mac OS X: Some applications may not open after
QuickTime 7.2 Update with directions on dealing with issues resulting from
the latest QT 7.2 update.

Please post back if you continue to have problems.
