MS office home and student 2007 install error

brand new computer XP. I can put in product key then install error comes up
and l can't go further. I can't get message to support because l don't have
product number because the dam thing won't install. Please help am at my witz
end.

WinXp system?
Have you uninstalled any office Trial & Activation Assistant, then rebooted.
Have you run MSUpdate for Critical Updates?
And it would be helpfull to quote the actual err.msg
