Windows 2000/XP Pro w/stations with Office 2000/XP installed direct from CD
with options to install ALL options to harddrive. (All updates also
installed) All products seem to run without issue but I think these errors
eventually seriously inhibit the performance of the PC/OS. (and not just when
the event log is full....haha)
In the App - event viewer the following errors occur in this order:
1004 - Detection of product '{00010409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}',
feature 'ProductNonBootFiles', component
'{C9AF9050-C8BE-11D1-9C67-0000F81F1B38}' failed. The resource
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Common\UserData' does not
exist.
1001 - Detection of product '{00010409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}',
feature 'ProductNonBootFiles' failed during request for component
'{7AB02DE0-B463-11D1-96C4-0080C728108A}'
11729 - Product: Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional -- Configuration
failed

It looks like this error occurs everytime the user opens an Office program.
I've read all MS articles and searched through Google for some answers but
nothing has corrected this issue yet. I've also completely removed Office as
per Microsoft's guidelines and re-installed, but still same errors. The
user(s) are not members of the admin group but most are "power Users" on the
local machine and regular users of the domain.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....and if you're close enough to
Southeastern PA, I'll take you out for a beer if you can help me resolve the
issue!
