When I installed MS 2003 it does not read my normal.dot...I did file associations, but it will not recognize my normal.dot files...Also, are the auto correct files able to be backed up as .acl files?

Hi Rosa,

Where did you place your Normal.dot? In Word take a look under
Tools/Options/File Locations and check the User Templates folder. If
you didn't place your Normal.dot in the User Templates folder then
Word will not recognize it as a global template.

I'm not sure what you mean by "are AutoCorrect files able to be backed
up as *.acl files". The *.acl files are the AutoCorrect files.
Although a better method for backing up your AutoCorrect entries is to
use the AutoCorrect utility found at:
http://word.mvps.org/Downloads/index.htm

I've found attempting to replace the *.acl files doesn't always work
as expected.
