MS Office > Outlook 2003 & SKU111.CAB also coded as Error 0x51F

David

1) Baseline = SNAFU, however Office working ok
2) Update Canon Dig Cam Software
3) MS Outlook will not load - missing sku111.cab
4) back to earlier restore pt - old version of camera software:( needs to be
installed but MS Outlook is ok

FINE

to run updated Canon software I need to resolve the missing sku111.cab
problem. Machine is Toshiba, media edition xp - factory install of software.
Only disks I have are Recovery or Update. I am unable to locate B21654A.exe
where this file is residing on either disk.
MS offers 3 ways to workaround/resolve the missing file but they all
presuppose the victim having a full Office disk, even in the LIS tool
procedure, all found in related article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;875556

Folders view allows all hidden files to be seen and to show all extensions.
The original LIS may have3 been killed somewhere in the past as I am unable
to find it. In that link above a claim is made to have parts I need in the
--- "Note Toshiba provides a compressed image of the OneNote CD on the
"Toshiba Recovery and Applications / Drivers" DVD that is located in the
following folder:
CDROM Drive\COMPS\MICROSOFT OFFICE ONENOTE 20030\MANUAL"
Is there something preventing me viewing the whole disk? I explore it
seeking the file...no can find boss...and of course when the request is made
to proffer up the original source data you cannot point to the whole CD and
say find it yourself for it asks you to find it, which I am not able to do.

I'm dizzy enough for all of us...sorry about the length of commentary...this
is day two of David takes 5 minutes to upgrade camera software:)

Anybody??

Since my first summary of the issue I've moved on - discovered two MS Off
Pro discs and thought my troubles were over, how naive. Put Canon G5 software
back in and sought to remedy MS Outlook by a) detect & Repair b) reinstall or
there was a 3rd way that escapes me but tried all to no avail. The error is
no longer about missing SKU111.CAB (think they were loaded during reinstall)
but now I am in the hopeless loop, fails to load, fails to enter safe mode
and start, fails after proving Detect & Repair is ok.

Come on brainiacs...me need help, oh ya. Do not really want to abandon Canon
G5 updated software and revert to previous MS Outlook yet the way ideas are
rolling in that might be expedient.

One other item is that when I upgraded the camera software MS.Net Framework
1.1 was updated to framework 2 - is this a problem?

Sounds to me like your problem is with the Canon software, not Outlook.
Contact Canon.

Mailed Canon several times - did my best to remove all their software - MS
Outlook will not dance for me anymore!! It doesn't load then fails to load in
safe mode and again in Det & Repair it wiggles along and says things are fine
but it lies. Things are not fine.

During all this poncing around my ace in the hole was to be 'Restore'
Well SOB, there are only two recent restore points, about 2 & 3 AM, not what
I need.

I'd run sfc /scannow and found there were a few dll missing which I
acknowledged and skipped. My sys is Win XP Pro on Media Ctre Ed which says it
does not require all the dll files. It asked that I insert (let me tell ya I
wanted to insert something, oh ya) Win XP disc 2 - this was factory
installed, I have no discs.

How do I get a full compliment of files for MSCache and all the dll files?
Or better still, how do I get Outlook to work properly? The other aspects of
Office seem ok.

Ok, time for me to jump into the flames from the frying pan, ciao for now

Many PCs include a factory-installed partition that can be used to generate
install disks. Did you read the docs that came with the PC to see if that's
the case?

I'm afraid you're somewhat outside my knowledge scope.
