MS Office Outlook has stopped work but only for one user??

Have been using Outlook 2007 on new Dell with Vista operating system for 2
months. I have no issues with my id. Husband's id started closing down
today with the error "MS Office outlook has stopped working" and closing
down. I ran Norton and no virus was found. Reinstalled office Small
business 2007, went into his outlook inbox and he had many emails in
duplicate and got error message again. I switched to my id and no problems
with Outlook. His account has over 640 contacts that were imported from
Outlook Express but as I said we've been using for 2 months with no issues.
Any solution?

The first thing I would do is run scanpst.exe against his PST file. Run it
repeatedly until it no longer finds any errors. You will have to make sure to
unhide hidden files and folders in order to find the PST. Then you will have
to do a search for scanpst.exe. Once it's found, just double-click it and
follow the instructions.

If that doesn't work, create a new Outlook profile for him:

Let me know how it turns out. Good luck!

I found the scanpst.exe and also thought I found the .pst file but when I try
to locate the .pst file from the scanpst screen it can't find it. I'm
searching all files and the path c:\users\xxx\appdata\local. When I look at
the hard drive and folders under user there is no appdata folder. Is there a
pay for support I can dial up, have them connect to my PC and do this for me?

i FOUNDE the file under his id but receivd a msg it's read only and I dont

Check the permissions on the file (right-click and scroll to properties) and
whether or not it's read only. You may simply have to log in under his
profile and run the repair.

I appreciate ur follow-ups but the file is not read only I checked and I
tired under his profile and under mind and both times rec'd prompt it was
read only and can not repair.

I created another profile for him and copy his contacts from one profile to
the other and they are all in his \contacts folder, 620 of them but when I
got to open up his address book none of them are there? Is there a help
number to call for MS?

Did you associate the address book with his contacts? Not sure how it's done
on your version of Outlook, but here are general directions:

Right-click on contacts in the folder list, scroll to properties and click
on that. Then click on the Outlook Address book tab and check the box that
says Show this folder as an e-mail address book.

Yes address book is associated with \contacts in his \personal folder in
Outlook. I'm using OUtlook 2007.

Have you logged in as your husband to try scanpst.exe under his profile? Also
try detect and repair from the help menu (you may need your Microsoft Office
2007 disk for that).

When you created his new Outlook profile, when you associated Outlook with
his PST did you use File > Open?
