MS Office Pro 2000 Help Doesn't Work in ANY application

Have a weird problem on my Office 2000 Pro installation
that I've just noticed; it may or may not have been a
problem before, because I really haven't used Help that
much. When clicking Help, the Office Assistant comes up,
there it works. When you select any item for Help, a
Help 'box' comes up, but it's empty. It's that way across
MS Office (Excel, Publisher, Word) and also Streets 2004.
I think the MSOHELP.EXE application isn't working
correctly.

I've deleted the Registry 'HelpViewer'; ran the Repair
utilities; registered MSOHELP.EXE / REGSVR32, all to no
avail. Everything else works perfectly. You can probably
tell, I'm none to keen on reinstalling Office!

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Mary,

Thank you for the post. I tried the first two steps of
that article (first wasn't needed; the second was
registering MSOHELP.EXE) After performing those steps,
problem still was there; i.e. No Help. The final
remaining one is what I was trying to avoid (reinstall
Office).

Oh well; I'll do without the help files before I'll
reinstall.

Thank you again.
