MS Office Professional (regular vs. Plus)

I am looking to get an MS Office suite for my new computer. I'm a continuing
ed student--I qualify for an educational discount for software, and I've been
looking at getting MS Office Professional. I've found the regular version of
Professional and also Professional Plus (the latter for $35 less). The
Microsoft site states that Plus is only available through volume licensing
(which my school has with the vender) and says that an upgrade from an
existing MS application/suite is not applicable for Plus. Otherwise, is there
any real difference between the two?

If there is no real difference, which is the better option? Any opinions?

AFAIK if you go with Plus using your school's volume license, you will have
to return it when you leave.....
