MS Office: Sent Items Searching old not new

Today is June 24, but when I do a search in Outlook Sent Items it begins from April 7, 2008 and searches through 2007 before coming back around and searching the last 2 months.

This is a problem because I typically need my most recent Sent emails to forward around and I have to wait for 10 minutes sometimes to find what I'm looking for.

Any suggestions?
