Died and gone to 'DELL'!

The office update site seems to think I am using a MAC, and will not check
for office xp updates, It redirects me to another mac site. I have a "Go to
Dell", or "To Dell in a handbasket" computer, a far cry from a MAC. I do
notice that the "E" in Dell is crooked like the "E" in ENRON, might that make
any significant consideration?

LOL! I don't reaaly have an answer to your problem, but I I thought a reply
was in order, just to say that I liked the way you worded your problem and
had a good laugh.

On many of the newsgroups that I subscribe to, I see too many people jumping
to the spyware/virus solution as an answer to a particular problem. I am
sure that in some cases, this is the problem, but in most, it's something
much more benign. In your case, however, the problem is a bit beyond the
limits of an Office, OS, or hardware configuration issue (or even user
error).

So, I'm going to break my own rule and suggest, if you haven't already done
so, that you should download a spyware/adware/malware detection/removal
tool, or make sure that the tool that you may be currently using is
up-to-date. Same for an Anti-Virus tool. I can't say which tools are the
best, but I can say that I use McAfee Anti-Virus and SpySweeper and I'm
happy with their performance.

Regards and thanks for the laugh!
