MS Office version compatibility with XP

I have just purchased XP. What previous versions of MS Office will be
compatible with XP?

Erm, no it can't. It can also be used with Windows 2000 (all flavours,
provided SP3 or laster is installed) and Windows 2003.

What have I told you about checking your facts before posting, Mary...?

Some are more compatible than others. Earlier versions of Office such
as Office 97 may not install *IF* Service Pack 2 is installed on the XP
machine and *IF* the html options are selected. Updates to Office 97
may not install either. The workaround is easy, remove SP2, install
Office 97, install all the updates and then re-install SP2. It seems
to work perfectly once it's installed.

I've heard of similar problem occuring with Office 2000.

Office XP and later versions seem to have no such problems as far as
I've heard here?
