MS Office XP and Outlook blocked files

I upgraded to MS Office Xp and use outlook as my email
application. I receive emails from trusted sources. When
I attempt to open them the files that have script or
coding associated with them will not open and I receive
the following warning:

Outlook blocked access to the following potentially
unsafe attachments: (attachments listed)

Why does this happen?
What steps should I take to get access to the attached
files?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to the
