I have a user who is using MS Windows Vista 64bit and MS Office XP SBE. When
the user tries to open any Excel documents from the desktop, by double
clicking the file, it opens as a read-only, and has a temporary file name
(X00000.....). If the user has excel already open, and does a "File", "Open",
and opens the exact same document, it opens fine - not read-only, and able to
"save" rather than "save as".
The file itself is NOT read-only.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as how to make it so the files
don't open as read only.
I am not saying for sure, but I'm wonder if it is a 64bit issue????
