MS Office XP Standard / MS Office Standard Edition 2003

I’m having problems with Excel, getting Error 1706, and can’t open any files.
I’ve moved several times and can’t find my original MS Office XP Standard
CD. A friend gave me a shrink-wrapped MS Office Standard Edition
2003-Applications Student Media CD (it says Product Key Required). Is it OK
to run this CD? Will it mess up my existing Office set-up? I’m running
Windows XP Professional. Thanks!

Unless you have the key, you couldn't install it. And then there's the
probable issue that that aren't a student and would be violating the
license.

Did your copy of Office come with your computer or did you purchase it
separately?
