MS Outlook 2000 pst problem

Will

I have a user that had the following problem. Her email
(Outlook 2000 utilzing pop 3) was open and it was hunfg
on the send/receive cycle. We had to end the Outlook
process in order to get the PC back to a normal state.

Everytime we tried to open Outlook, it would open but
then it would freeze when it began the send and receive
task.

We created a new Outlook profile and we could send and
receive fine. The probelm we have is we cannot import the
user's pst file into the new working profile.

We need to get the users email, calendar and contact info
back but we cannot get the import to work on the original
pst file.

PLease help if you can, I would really appreciate it!

Don't use the import. Use File->Open->Personal Folders File. Once open,
drag and drop the information into the new .pst file.

Try sharing the original pst file and then accessing it
from the new profile. Also, check the services available
in your Outlook - if you're not working in a network and
you have the Exchange services configured, sometimes it
blocks on the send/receive cycle. If that's the case, try
uninstalling it (Ptions/ Available services, etc...)

All the best
