password - so you may not be able to save it it the OutlookLive accounts.
Do they have you using rpc over http? (aka "outlook anywhere") if so, what
authentication are you using? (tools, accounts, select exchange account,
click change then more settings - it’s on the second or 3rd tab. )

Hello,
I am using Outlook 2007 and trying to set up MS Exchange and OS is XP
SP3.
Anytime when I start Outlook, it asks for a password and there is no
check-box to "Save" password. There were two or three posts reporting
similar
problem, but I couldn't find solution or it was not explained how to
solve
it. My account is located at Live Mail at Microsoft.
Dan
Err Live Mail doesn't use an Exchange Server. (AFAIK). Can you be a bit
more
specific on what you are trying to do?

Good morning, Gordon
Hi, I am a full time student at Missouri University and I used to have a
MU
email with (e-mail address removed) domain. And Exchange Server was also available.
A
few days ago, MU declared that e-mail to Microsoft Outlook Live and new
account looks (e-mail address removed). I followed the instructions and the
"HELP" also said the Exhcnage Server is supported, but somehow the the
problem I described showed up and I can't fix it.
In the link that follow, there is a sentence that say "If the person who
manages your mailbox has turned off Exchange Cached Mode for your domain,
you
won't be able to connect to your e-mail account using an Exchange account
using Outlook" - and the Exchnage looks to be on and the only problem is
storing password. http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/cc511396.aspx
Good morning, Gordon and Diane,
Well, I did talk to IT people this morning - they were as puzzled as I am at
the moment. I do use TIGER domain to log on as recoommmended by Diane,
otherwise I am unable to access computer, and after that I could access MS
Exchange using old server credentials ([email protected]) and I had no problems
(meaning the passoword was stored and MS Outlook didn't prompt for it again).
Diane as per your question - the RPC for connection settings are:
pod51000.outlook.com and msstdutlook.com and the "Proxy authentication
settings" I use "Basic authentication". There is another option "NTLM
authentication" and it displayes the check-box under (e-mail address removed)
and password but doesn't store and neither recognizes my account at all. Any
ideas?
Dan
Oh, forgot to add. I decided to set up the account at another computer on
campus that has the same environment (OS, Office etc) and no luck. The same
result.
