MS Outlook behind a Proxy - Not receiving internet mail?

O

ola_atb

I am using outlook to receive mails from my internet mail account. I think I
am behind a proxy and each time I do my send and receive, everything on my
local network works perfectly well, I am able to send and receive internet
mail from my office account (both internally and externally). I only have a
problem with receiving mails from my personal email accounts.

I get the following error message, but only on receiving. The sending is
always completed.

Task 'pop.bizmail.yahoo.com' - Receiving reported error (0x80040900): 'The
server name you entered can not be found on the network (it might be down
temporarily). Please verify that you are online and that the server name is
correct.'

Outside my office, I get no error message.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to correct this please.

Thanks

Perhaps you have a firewall at work blocking access to outside POP servers.
Allowing such access is a danger to your local network, so it's
understandable that it would be blocked.
