Literally everyday, Outlook will become non-responsive and freeze up; it
happens multiple times during the day. Would I be better off to remove
Outlook and use Outlook Express or something else. AM I ALONE WITH THIS
PROBLEM(160 gig HD, with > than 60% free; 1 gig of RAM; AMD 3200+)

No pattern; this am I came down, e-mail started to download than just froze
up; when I try to close out Outlook, I get an unresponsive message; then I
will have to hit the 'X' 4-8 times before it will close out OR I have to
reboot. It literally happens everyday a nd multiple times a day.

A few generic things to try:
- make sure you've installed the latest service pack for your version of
Office/Outlook
- run ScanPST.EXE on your PST file
- run a disk scan to check your hard drive
- remove & readd your Internet mail account

I'm updated and I did a scan 3 days ago; I will try adding and removing my
e-amil account, but first, how do I run scanPST.exe; I am not sure where my
*.pst files are stored

Your PST file should be in the C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook directory. ScanPST.EXE should be
in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033 directory.

Sorry to bother you. I actually went to page one of the posts and read until
I came up with it
