Dear Microsoft
I would like to see a feature in Outlook calendar that allows me to schedule
travel time each side of an appointment at the same time of entering the
appointment in my diary. The meeting reminder function is useful, however
does not quite work as needed.
The idea here is that when booking an appointment at (say) 10am, a radio /
dialogue box for "travel time to appointment" and "travel time from
appointment" with a time/duration dropdown (ie 15 mins, 30 mins, 1 hour, 2
hours etc etc) would be displayed on the entry screen to allow me to select
the appropriate amount of time for travelling to/from appts.
At present, I enter the appointment (say three weeks into the future), then
go and search for it again in my calendar, then put in an additional
appointment called "travel" each side of (ie one before and one after) the
actual meeting.
The challenge here is that without allowing travel time, people will still
schedule time in my diary right up to the point when I have a meeting
scheduled out of the office. It is often the case that I have to travel
(say) 1 hour to get to/from the actual meeting, so whilst I can be in contact
via mobile phone etc during those times, I cannot actually be in our office
to attend other meetings.
Many thanks
