MS Outlook Slow after standby restart

weird problem; Win Xp SP3, Outlook 2003. After I come out of standby mode
and open Outlook reseiving or sending messages transfer at very slow rates,
i.e., dribbles in or out at 30 bytes every 10 seconds and so on. This
started after recent updates. I have Norton's Intermet Securiy 2009
installed and it works great, so let's not go there. Anyone else have this
problem? Any suggestions for a cure?

Pre-Thanks,

Jeff

Does it start working faster again after a certain time period or when you
restart Outlook?

As long as you didn't install its Outlook plugin, we might not have to go
there indeed.

Roady, after reading of several other similar problems I reloaded my old
video drivers (VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP (64 MB)) and it seems to have fixed
the problem. Time will tell; the kind of bugs rarely fix themsleves :).

Well, it just stopped messing up. Who knows what lurks in these programs.
No more slow e-mails.
