It is my great displeasure to have noted the following:

Some of my team members have tasks showing in their timesheet that are no
longer in the planning.

The big problem here is that these are not deleted tasks. So i have no idea
on how they came to be or can be dealt with..

Hopefully one of the briljant minds in this community could aid me find a
way to remove these tasks for good.

Kind regards,

What do you mean when you say?

Are you saying that they were never in a project plan? If yes, there is no
explanation for this. If they once existed in a plan, then it means that
they are orphaned assignments that were created by untrained users
improperly deleting tasks before they closed out the assignments. If the
latter is the case, the way to rid yourself of these is to save the plan
that were once associated with as an mpp file, delete the plan from the
server and import it back to the server using Republish all assignments and
selecting to overwrite the time in the timesheets.

Gary,

These tasks have been in the project plan, but where probably altered to
different tasks. The new tasks show as well as the old ones in the PWA, while
in the plan the old ones are no more. Now the old ones polute the timesheet
view of the teammembers, it looks like somekind of synchronisation bug.

Hopefully the 2003 edition doesn't have such problems. Then the project
managers would be saved from paying attention to hours being booked while
they are altering the plan.. Are there more possable causes of such
asynchronies?
How are these covered in 2007? For i am trying to build a case for 2007..

kind regard,

Ruben

I have re-uploaded the project plan after saving it as a file.

However, this raises a new question, now that i have re-imported the project
plan some team members are missing tasks and they say that some tasks are no
longer visible in their PWA timesheet.
For this i now know that some of these tasks are tasks that were completed,
but strangely enough there are also some tasks that are not deleted being
displayed.

Another issue that might be related is that the team members can not see
their previously entered hours in their PWA timesheet?

What should i do to resolve these problems?

Kind regards,

Ruben

Ruben:

Use Collaborate > Publish > Republish selecting the checkbox to overwrite
actual work in the timesheet. This will synch PWA with the Project. Note
that your resources may see some work values change slightly depending on
the task types you used.
