MS Proj 2003 WAN capabilities

Ok, much of the MS doc recommends running MS Proj via TS if clients are
across a WAN. Is there an alteranative method? If I have clients around the
world who need to collaborate on projects using resources across the country
they apparently need a 10Mb or higher connection to the Proj server. If I
want to add a Proj server in each location seems I have to add an sql server
as well then sychronize the databases--this just seems really messy.

Anyone know of another way?

thanks.

This is why MS recommends TS. The alternative is messy and performance can
be poor.
