MS Project 2002 and the Outlook 2003 Calendar

Hi all,

Are you able to link the calendar in Project 2002 to the calendar in Outlook?
If not, perhaps this is something the developers can do in a later version
of Project.

What kind of link are you looking for? Are you trying to send a list of
tasks from Project over to your resource's Outlook to-do lists there's a way
to do it. Or are you trying to do something else?

Hi Steve,

What I am trying to do is link up the Outlook Calendar with the calendar in
Project. The aim is to see where there are conflicts and when people are on
holiday, etc. So if one of my team members is working on a seperate job and
this is shown through Outlook, I was wondering if I could pick this up in
Project and schedule my ream member around that job. Is this possible.

And how do you send out tasks to my team members in my resource list? Where
do I input their email address in Project, so the tasks are sent from Project?

Thank you for your help!

Project 2003 has the ability to import your own Outlook calendar as tasks
but not the other resources' calendars. Don't remember for sure whether
2002 has it but I think it does. Look in the Tools menu. Project Server
2003 and Project Web Access allows your resources to import their task
assignments from PWA into their own Outlook calendars but it doesn't go the
other way around. Likewise, you can use the Workgroup tools in Project 2002
to send assignments to resources which they can maintain as tasks in their
Outlook.
