MS Project 2003 - Cannot 'Save As...'

Hi,

I have a user who is having trouble saving in MS Project 2003.
When he is in MS Project and chooses ‘Save As…’ – the ‘Save As…’
window opens, but he cannot drill-down (or up) into other folders, or
navigate anywhere within this window – he can only ‘Cancel’.

However, if he is in MS Project, chooses ‘Save As…’ – then when the
window opens, he switches to another program (say IE), then comes back
to MS Project’s ‘Save As…’ window – he can navigate anywhere and
choose to save the file anywhere.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before?

Never saw this in Project ... but I'm wondering if it is due to the
permsisions set on the folder that is initially opened by the dialogue box.

I've seen something similar in which the drill down was very slow.

It is probably a PC or network problem rather than a Project problem.
Is he accessing any slow drives or network drives?

The drill-down dialog is common to other programs. Do they exhibit this
problem or is it just Project?

Or is it trying to access network connections which are no longer present?
