This problem occurs when the Project Server Administrator
inadvertently applies the Gantt Chart or other non-enterprise view after
checking out the Enterprise Global. By doing this, the Gantt Chart view,
and its accompanying table, Entry, are copied into the Enterprise Global.
The Gantt Chart view and Entry table are local features that are found in
each user's Global.mpt file, and should not appear in the Enterprise Global.
Once accidentally copied to the Enterprise Global, local objects will cause
error messages every time a project is opened on the server.
The Project Server administrator must be careful when checking out the
Enterprise Global to make sure that ONLY enterprise features are present in
the Enterprise Global, including Views, Tables, Filters, Groups, Reports,
etc.
Resolution
1.. Open Microsoft Project and log into Project Server with an
Administrator account
2.. Click Tools - Enterprise Options - Open Enterprise Global
3.. Click Tools - Organizer
4.. From the list of Views on the right (in the Enterprise Global),
select
the Gantt Chart view or other intruding view
5.. Click the Delete button to remove the non-enterprise view from
the
Enterprise Global
6.. Click the Tables tab
7.. From the list of Tables on the right (in the Enterprise Global),
select
the Entry table or other offending table
8.. Click the Delete button to remove the non-enterprise Table from
the
Enterprise Global
9.. Click the Close button
10.. Save and close the Enterprise Global
11.. Close Microsoft Project
12.. Ask all Project Managers to log out of Microsoft Project and
then to
log back in again to get the latest changes to the Enterprise Global
