MS Project 2003 Forecast Resource Availability Reporting

T

Teri

Attempting to product Supply and Demand Reports where Resources (supply) and
all Projects are entered as summary tasks with related Start/End dates,
Resources, % Allocations (Demand) --> showing what / when Resources are
available.

Also export to Excel to create pivot tables with supply vs. demand stats
over months (i.e.: Jan'06 has supply 5, demand 3, therefore gap/available 2
resources)

Project Server is great at producing these reports. Otherwise create a macro
(recording one is good enough) to insert all your projects into a new blank
file. Do an insert but no link. All resource names are then combined to give
a snapshot report on resources across all projects in the consolidated file.

Set max units for each resource and you have demand supply. All this of
course assumes you have your resources assigned realistically in all files!!
