Are there known issues with Hammock Task in MS Project 2003 or 2007
standalone versions and MS Project Server 2003 or 2007 versions? Any info is
appreciated.

While testing Hammock Tasks (via Q141733) in MS Project Server 2003

There aren't any "problems" with hammock tasks, per se, but they are rather
fragile in that they rely on ole linking, which is easily broken. When you
use these in server, the risk you run is that people can report time against
these outside of the start and end date parameters which can cause them to
"appear" to be broken. If you have a hammock task that runs between March 1
and March 20, and someone puts actual work on February 28, the hammock task
duration MUST change because actual start will change along with the work
posting.

We use MSPS timesheet data entry process and we currently deal with this (not using Hammock tasks). However, the fact that MSPS'2003 does not calculate/roll-up Earned Value Management fields for Hammock Tasks is more of an issue for us. Are you using EV Management?
