MS project 2007 crashes when saving

Hey

I've been working on a project file in MS Project 2007. When I save changes
to this file I get a message saying something like this (the message is in
Norwegian, but here I try to translate it to English):

"Cannot open file
Check if filename and path is correct
Check if file has a format that Project knows
Project-files created in an earlier version than MS Project 98 cannot be
opened"

On this messagebox I click "OK" and then click on the "save"-button again..
then MS Proejct 2007 crashes on my computer

This project file I've been working on is located at Project Server 2007
area.. (on a server)

Any suggestions

Similar issue. In process of going live on Project Server 2007. for
weeks all was fine. Now more times than not, when saving a project,
project Pro crashes, file is show as checked out. Trying to fource in
file back in does not work, trying to clear cache does not help trying
to cancel job from mange Queue fails, trying to delete object do not
execute. Only thing that does work is to reloaed the file using a
different name. But chances are 50% - 50% that in time this file will
crash.

Need answer on what's causing this and how to work around.... or need
immediate pactch from microsoft... can not wait thill service pack 1
issued

From the sound of your urgency and the odd nature of the problem, I
think you ought to open a case with MS Professional Support Services.

Some other things to try include saving the project as .xml or an
Excel file if possible, importing that file as a new project in
Project Pro and then publishing that as a different project. This
might clear out the corruption that you seem to have in the plan. But
the newsgroups are not necessarily the place to go when you need to
get a patch from MS.

Hi Jeff,

I have encountered the excat same message when trying to save a project file
in MS Project server 2007.We have also installed the SP1 already.
The files worked properly for a while and after few days we got this message.
I have tried cleaning the local cache, but no luck yet.

I saw that you were able to solve the problem..how is that? did it just went
away by itself?

I guess that saving the file as mpp and saving again to the server is a good
workaround but not a sulotion...

I'm desperate and looking for an answer.

Thanks
Avital
