MS Project 2007 crashes

MS Project 2007 crashes nearly every day. I have reinstalled and even changed
machines. With and without SP1. Is this common? Before SP1 I think I most
often crashed at the point of save/publish. With SP1 I think I crash a little
less, and now it seems like I more often crash when opening files.

Ideas?

HI John,

No this is not a normal behaviour. do you have this issue only on one PC or
does you whole organisation faces this issue?
Thanks

It is not specific to my install. I have seen crashes on other machines but
since I am by far the biggest user I get most of the crashes.

For a while, it was a joke that I can crash any machine but I now think
that the issue is across the system.

Try enabling client side logging with the following reg key. Does this
generate any additional information ?

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\MS Project]
"WinprojLog"="c:\\temp\\"
"DebugCategory"=dword:ffffffff
"DebugLevel"=dword:ffffffff
"DebugLoadSerCategory"=dword:000003ed

We had similar problem here on multiple machines a few months ago.... but
cleaning local cashe seem to make the problem dissapear.

Again, similar.... most all crashes happened on save or publish

I am running SP1 but do suspect that part of the issue is the cache. Jsut as
many problems with the HotFixes. I am thinking about deleting my cache at
ever restart to see of that will help.

As for messing with my RegSettings . . . I am not comfortable doing that and
do not have permissions for that.
