MS Project 2007 - Custom Reports

Hi
I am running a Custom Crosstab Report called Resource Usage. I am
attempting to run a "Date Range..." filter to it however it appears to be
ignoring the filter settings.
Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you resolve it.
Look forward to hearing from anyone who can help/advise.
Kind regards

Hi Tony,

I just did a quick test -- assuming I set up the report in the same
manner (weekly report showing resources and assignments using the
"Date Range" filter) -- I do see only assignment information in the
date range.

I see total work on the resource line (including work not in the date
range) but the names of those assignments are not listed.

What are you seeing and what did you expect to see?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie
Many thanks for the feedback.
Here is what I have done line by line:
1. Created a new Resource Table with the following columns therein:
a. ID
b. Name
c. % Work Complete
d. Start
e. Finish
f. Work
2. I then created a Custom Report with the sam e columns therein and using
the "Date Range..." filter selected a date range of 11 Aug through 15 Aug 08.
However it is showing me tasks from 1 Apr 08 onwards. Is this because a
tasak may span more than the Date Range I am trying to select?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Hi Tony,

You're welcome for the assistance :)

I assume you've applied the new table to the Resource Usage view?

Do you have assignments which start April but don't end until August?

Testing again with a shorter time frame (I had initially pulled a
month's worth of data), I do see if I ask for a week in date range
that assignments which started before the week are included.

I don't believe you are doing anything "wrong" -- it's just that those
long on going assignments are going to show.

Have you considered using AutoFilters in the Resource Usage view? I
just tried autofiltering on the Start and Finish in the Resource Usage
view and saw only those assignments (and resources) for that week.
You can then print the view and have much better control over how it
looks.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie
Obviously it does not split tasks to meet the Date Range. This is why it is
showing tasks outside of the Date Range I am selecting.

Many thanks for your help.
