MS Project 2007 Entering hours on its own

I am updating a project plan in which the baseline hours were 16. I enter 4
for hours worked and then 5 for remaining. The next thing I know, MS Project
enters 2000 hours. I go back change the hours and then it adds 3000 to
another project.

I tried to call Microsost but unless I pay them - I cant talk with anyone.
Does anyone know why MS Project would just enter hours randomly into a task
(doesnt have to be the one I am working on)?

Hi,

Need more information: Which version of Project, what SP and are you using
Project Server?

Exactly what method did you use for entering actual hours and remaining
hours (so we can try and duplicate the problem). Is this for a single
resource on a single task?
