MS Project 2007 Server, Analysis service install

Hello,

Project 2007, single server install using SQL express that installed in
standalone mode...

How do I install the Anaylysis service? This in an attempt to get reporting
working.

Help anyone???

Hi Ted,

SQL express does not consist of Analysis Services, sorry to say, but in
order to use Analysis Services you will need SQL Server.
Hope this helps

Ouch!

Thanks for the information, sadly it didn't mention that in the build
document when considering my options.

Can I migrate the current express varient to SQL2005 without too much grief?

Sure,

Stop Project Server Services

Backup the databases.

Remove SQL Express.

Install SQL 2005, SP2, CU6 (Keep the same name/instance).

Restore the DBs.

Start Project Server Services.

{ensure that any service accounts have the appropriate access/permissions
after install SQL 2005)

You can do also edition change upgrade with "setup skuupgrade=1"

There is a way to use a file to perform analysis from stored on the server
but its not the preferred method though
