MS Project 2007 Trial - Wtf?

G

Geoff from LA

We are evaluating MS Project 2007 and what a pain in the ass. First it took
me 10 minutes just to get through all the questionairs and $0 purchasing to
download it.

So I finally d/l it and its a .img file. Wtf? Does Microsoft intentially
want to piss us off? I want a executable. We have downloaded all the
competition and have it running in the first 5-10 minutes. This is stupid.

Can someone give me "Instructions for dummies" on how to install Project
2007 from a .img file. And no, I don't have time to burn to a cd and all that
jazz.

Thank you,

- Very Frustrated...

I had the same problem, Download ISO buster from download.com

You should be able to open the file with that.

Microsoft wants to sell you the product but will not provide any
support on testing the trial version.

If you have the $ use Primavera....

You can mount an img with Nero or Daemon tools, probably a number of others.
Once it is mounted you can run the install from there.

I am going through the same thing... What do I do next after downloading
ISOBuster? I need help, because I've clicked on the setup.exe and it won't
dowload - it says "Set Up Error. Setup can not find the required set up
controller file..."

Tina,

There have been a number of posts in this newsgroup about Project 2007
trial versions. Below is some advice I gave to another poster about 2
weeks ago that seemed to have worked for him:

See the following:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/aa718401.aspx

Although it refers to "Express Editions" the information under
"Manually Installing an Express Edition on a local machine" give step
by step instructions on working with *.img files.

See also:

http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2058238&SiteID=1

for some references to other programs (other than Roxio and IsoBuster)
which will work with *.img files.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
