There has been a lot of evolution to MS Project in the past 12 years. Since
4.1 was released there have been releases of MSP 95 (4.1 "thunked" for 32
bit Windows), 97/98, 2000, 2002, and now 2003 along with service packs for
each version as well. If you can't afford or can't justify the price of
2003, I'd at least shop around on eBay and similar venues to see if you
can't get a copy of 98 or even better 2000 at a price you can afford, if you
shop around you might even be able to find a good deal on MSP 2002. There
was a huge jump in functionality between MSP95 and MSP97/98 and another
signifigant leap to P2000. Since then the changes have been signifigant but
more on the order of refinements rather than major re-works, at least on the
desktop client side of things. I'd really try to get ahold of 2000 or later
if at all possible.
