MS Project Infrastructure

Hello,
We plan to install an MS Project 2002 server connected
with 5 workstations.
Our workstations are located on a distant site and are
connected to the server via a 128 Kb link speed.
Is this architecture rapid enough to work from
workstations to the server or is it advised to have the
server and workstations on the same 100 MB LAN ????
What is the minimum broadband in order the users
communicate without any problem with the server????

Thanks.

according to all recommendations i have seen, PS clients
should be able to connect at 10Meg. the 100meg connx
recommendation would be if you were using multiple server
configurations. these servers would then need 100Meg
connections.

however, i have usually found 10meg is not nearly enough
and would go for maximum bandwidth to help avoid
communication issues. timeouts in db communication are
one of the biggest causes of data issues (IMHO)

Nicolas:

If you're talking about the Project Client connecting to Project Server over
a 128K link, you're not going to get a good user experience. You're better
off providing this access via Terminal Services. If you're talking about
Project Web Access for resources, then you'll find the performance
satisfactory. You may need to adjust the value of your SQL timeout setting,
particularly if you're running across frame relay or any other high-latency
network.
