MS Project is crashing

I am running a desktop with W2K, MS Office 2003 SBE on it and MS Project
version 4.0. Sometimes it will work fine, but most of the time when i try to
save, print, or print preview I get this:

WINPROJ4 caused an access violation in ntdll.dll @ 0x77fcc89c
then it has an close and ignore option if i choose ignore it gives me
ntvdm.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.
and then it just closes the application. Can someone please help me with
this problem. I have been working on it for a couple of days now
(reinstalling the program, replacing dll files, etc.) and am stumped. Thank
you for your time and help.

Project 4 is a very old 16 bit application and as such may suffer problems
in the modern 32 bit environment. It is also unsupported by Microsoft now
and yours is the first post for Project 4 for as long as I can remember. If
you need to rely on Project I suggest upgrading.
