MS Project Overwrites Max. Resource hrs

Hi!

I'm unable to find a solution and thought maybe you could help me? I would really appreciate it!

My project:

• All the tasks are auto scheduled
• Except for meetings, all tasks are all set to type "fixed work" with the constraint type "as soon as possible"
• Except for meetings (like weekly recurrent status meetings), all tasks are all have a predecessors.

My question would be:

• Why does MS Project overwrite the maximum number of hours of a resource per day if a task (in this case the recurrent meeting) is added to the project without being linked to other tasks? In my case the recurrent meetings are set on fixed dates and of course might influence the critical path, but why does MS Project not push forward other tasks to the next day? Not overwriting the number of hours of a resource in a day is important for me. What would you advise me to do?
