MS Project Pro accessing Project Server 2003 over the Internet

I just want to make sure that I have only 2 options availble to be able to
use MSP Pro to connect to
MS Project Server:

1- open SQL Server port 1433
2- Connect to the server using VPN and access the Project Server
directly using the local IP
address

There is no other way?

The question applies both for :
- MSP Pro 2002 connecting to MS Project Server 2002
- MSP Pro 2003 connecting to MS Project Server 2003

I believe that using Terminal Services is an additional option. Hope this
