I'm trying to see if anyone can offer any advice on how to accomplish
something.

One of our business units uses the Hyperlink field to display the address of
our local CRM support system tickets to certain tasks within MS Project
(Project Server). These hyperlinks are ridicously long.

I would like to customize an enterprise field to allow the Project managers
to enter a code (several characters) in this field, then run a macro, and
eventually build the entire Hyperlink string by simply adding the individual
codes at a certain point within the hyperlink string.

For instance, enter the code XXX999, run the macro and have the following
URL get built and added to the Hyperlink column :
http://server/page/xxx999/example/default.aspx
