MS Project Re-occurring Sequence Question

Thought I'd try here to get some direction before spending hours on my own!!!
I'd like to set up MS project file that shows the day that a part time employee is available to work for me.
Part time employee Joe, works another job that has a schedule of 3 day shifts on, 3 days off, 3 night shifts on, 3 days off...then it repeats, regardless of weekends & holidays.

I'd love to have 'Project' show me what days 'Joe' is available to work for me, i.e. his days off or when he's working nights on his other job. I'd like to use it in the context of a 'project' called my company schedule overview, where I show what jobs were on for a given month. (I have detailed task lists setup for each job schedule but this doesn't show in the overview schedule).
I'm using Project 2000.

I'm looking for a way to get around printing out a one month calendar and hand writing in the days he's available.
Is there a sequence you could detail or is this too involved

Any help is much appreciate

John,
You have an interesting request. I played around a little and came up
with a solution although I don't know if it is exactly what you are
looking for. To keep it simple, I opened a new project with a Start date
of Feb 1, 2004 and used a 24 hour calendar.

1. Go to Insert/Recurring Task.
2. Use the following settings for Joe's "day" job:
Duration: 72h
Recurrence pattern: Daily
Frequency: Every 12th
Time period: Day
Start: 2/1/04
Range of recurrence: [as long as you need]
3. Below the "day" job tasks, insert another recurring task for Joe's
night work. Use the same settings except
Start: 2/7/04 4:00PM [or whatever time the night shift starts]
4. Set all tasks to roll up to the summary line

By using the Calendar view, you will see all of Joe's available times. I
assumed Joe does get some rest and that if he is working a night shift
he is not available to work a day shift also.

Hope this helps. Someone else may have a better approach.

Thanks for the ideas John. I tried them and made some adjustments as follows
1. I set three task. The first one, FH Days, with Frequence of every 12th; the second one FH off, with a frequence of every 6th, and the third task, FH Nights, with a frequence of every 12th

Works perfectly

Thanks agai

John
