MS Project Server 2007 and MSSharepoint Server 2007 - workflows

P

PedroJose

I've installed MS Project Server 2007 with the included version of Sharepoint
Services, we have not deployed the full Sharepoint Server system. Can I set
up document management workflows without the full version of MS Sharepoint
Server? if yes, how should I do this? I need to setup basic doc mgmt
workflows (save a template, create a doc from a template, when finished
draft, send to reviewer, when finished review, sent to author, etc....).
What do I need to set up this type of fucntionality???

Please advise!

Thanks.

the quick answer is yet, as WSS3.0 includes the workflow foundatation
services. However, the tools to configure/create workflow are either visual
studio, or SharePoint Designer (what was frontpage), however SharePoint
Designer only works with MOSS - hence the longer answer is this is not that
easy to get working and is not IMHO well understood.

Hello Ben,

I thought you could create workflows for WSS using SharePoint designer, am I
wrong about this?

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave, the workflow runs within WSS, but my understanding is that you need
MOSS in order to use SharePoint designer. Not sure why, probably a marketing
decision.
