MS Project Server email updates - Summary Tasks

P

Product Mgr.

When I publish a project on MS Project Server, all resources get a list of
tasks via email, but they have no meaning without the associated summary task
information.

1). When sending email updates to resources, is there any way to show the
Summary Task associated with each task?

2). Additionally, when exporting tasks into Outlook, is there a way to
include summary task information with each task appearing on the resources'
calenders?

Thank you for your help!

Hi Product Mgr,

I can see your dilema, but unfortunatly for both of your questions the
answer is no.

The only way how a resource can see summary tasks is during time entry. When
he enteres time, the task (or time sheet ) is displayed. If the resouce
chooses to include the summary tasks within his timesheet, he would be able
to see them.

PS: should you use outlook for time entry, then you will also see the
timesheet view. What happens is that outlook renders the task tab within
outlook. This would allow your team member to see the summary task via
outlook. (sort of)

Hope this helps
