MS Project Viewer !

No, because there isn't one. There was rumor of one (not for free) at
projectviewer.com, but no confirmation.

This question has been asked ad nauseum. Did you even search before posting
yet another request. The answer is THERE IS NO FREE VIEWER FOR MS PROJECT.

www.projectviewer.com claims to have one, but the prices I saw seemed
outrageous.

You can try AdeptTracker Viewer
(http://www.adeptproject.com/productinfo.htm), it is free .

This program is free viewer of AdeptTracker , but it can open the xml
file exported by MS Project . If the MS Project has been installed ,
it can convert the mpp file into AdeptTracker format and other people
can read it with AdeptTracker viewer .

FYI, the XML file can only be created by MS Project 2002. Not MS Project
2000 or earlier.

I use an application from Afinion called "Project on Web Viewer"
(http://www.afinion.com/). This application works exteremely well for us as
we recieve MPP files quite often and need to view them and/or print them
out. However, we do not have the need to manipulate or create our own MPP
files so owning MS Project is not really necessary. Unlike other viewers,
Project on Web Viewer reads the native MPP file so there is no need for the
creator of the MPP file to convert it to another format. While it is not a
free viewer, Project on Web Viewer has met my needs quite well and is very
cost effective (it is better then shelling out the total cost of a full MS
Project license). I would highly recommend it. I hope this helps. Post
back if you have other questions.

OK, but its NOT FREE. They want 99 euros for it.

In my opinion, you do not need a project viewer. The Save As a Web File
option should be sufficient, but if not, you can print your project plan
using a utility that saves it to a PDF file. Giving away your MPP file
should not be an option because it contains intellectual property and
resource costs that your customer is not entitled to. If you want someone
else to manage your project, then give them your MPP file. If you want to be
the project manager, use the tools I have recommended.

Some Project users purchase KIDASA's Milestones Project Companion
software to generate distributable project schedules. The Project
manager would install both products and then use Milestones Project
Companion to create a "published" schedule. Once created, the
Milestones schedule can be distributed to others who can view it with
the free Milestones viewer.

We make 4 project viewers: see http://www.steelray.com

Two products run on Windows: one opens MPD files, and the other, which will
be released at the end of December 2003, will open MPP files.

The other two products are web-based.

Far from the "free" version that most people are requesting. I think
printing the project to PDF is the most elegant solution.

$20 for the version that opens MPD files
$95 for the client version
$170 for the server version

You forgot: $599 for Project Standard 2003, which is what many people are
spending to open .mpp files. Hey, if I'm requesting software, my first
choice would always be that it be free. All I'm saying is: delivering a
native project file viewer for $20 (the price of our MPP viewer) is a good
value and a reasonable alternative to $599. Not as good an alternative as
free, though.

The client and server versions of Steelray go far beyond a typical viewer.
Each product contains a complete report writer, which means you can create
views of the project that show "All Overdue Tasks" and "My Unfinished
Tasks." The server version even allows portfolio reporting (same type of
reports, but across several projects).

With respect to printing to PDF, I agree with you that it's a great
solution, and I distribute many application files that way. The only
downside is that you have an extra step each time you modify your project
file.
