I have created saved my project file in SQL Server and am updating notes
through the table MSP_TEXT_FIELDS. When I reopen MSProject the notes screen
text doe not show the amendments made. Please can anyone advise why this is
happening

Hi wobblerjk,

If you look at the file PJDB.HTM (for Project 2003) look for the topic in
the help file titled "Setting the flags required to enable updating project
data in the database" you'll see the flags that must be set.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thank you for responding but I am still having no joy - the TEXT_FIELD_ID I
am using is 188743774 which I believe relates to notes. In the database the
full text is showing but not in MS Project. I have made all the changes as
suggested but still no luck.

Hi JK,

In doing a quick scan of the PJDB.HTM file I mentioned earlier, the
MSP_Text_Fields are for custom text not Notes. The Notes field is an RTF
field.

I suggest you take a look at the PJDB file. I think it will help a great
deal.
