With our Global implementation of Project Server 2003, our local reports are
retrieved from an OLAP Cube. I found this unsuitable for my reporting needs,
because I could not retrieve the "Task" level detail of a Project Plan, thus
I took the following approach.
With an Admin account via PWA, I select staff in the resource view,
This allows me to retrieve the following data,
ResourceName;Project;Task;Actual Work; for all staff.
I do this every week, and export to excel, and locally run a merge of
Staff/Team/Dept/Finance/etc data to each Task/Resource, Then run specific
report extracts via Pivots.
PWA "View Resource Assignments" - View Options - Units are "Days", "Weeks",
"Entire Period", I currently extract a weekly data dump, but
I have a problem in not being able to aggregate the data in Months for other
department reports.
Days are not usable due to excel limitations, As my full year of data is
held on a single worksheet.
Using Daily, exceeds the capability of Excel.
Is there a way to modify the View in PWA to allow me to select "Months" as a
valid period.
