MS Query keeps getting Out of Memory messages

I'm running Excel 2007 and whenever I try to use MS Query to create a data
connection I get two pop-ups say "Out of memory" with an OK button.
AFterclicking the second OK, MS Query is completely oblivious. I have to use
Task Manager to shut it down. This happens on my XP and Vista PCs. Creating a
data connection via SQL Server works fine. I need MS Query to work so I can
access Sybase and ORacle databases. Anyone know what to do? I can't find
anything in TechNet.

I've experienced this issue with Oracle drivers. This has worked for me:-
a) Open MS Query (MSQRY32.EXE directly - in your Program Files/Office folder).
b) From File menu select 'Table Definition'.
c) Select your data source and hit OK.
d) Select your username under 'Owner' (or the correct Owner if different).
e) Select 'Options'.
f) Uncheck 'Synonyms' i.e. make sure just Tables and Views are checked.

This should resolve the out of memory issue in my experience.

I believe the problem stems from MS Query trying to load everything for that data source for the preview.
