When I try to open a Word attachment from within Outlook I
get the following Outlook error message:
Outlook : The system cannot find the file specified
Then Word launches with this error message:
Word: The document name or path is not valid. Try these
suggestions:
* Check the file permissions for the document or drive.
* Use the File Open dialog box to locate the document.
(path\file name)
The "Web Info" button on the error message window sends me
to KB article 224016. But none of the scenarios there are
relevant to my situation.
My speculation is that a recent MS Security "Update" that
deals with openning "unsafe" shortcuts messes with Word's
mechanism for openning real, legit documents.
Am I totally wrong?
Dear Suzanne, the hyperlinks you provide are useless and
you do not stay long enough to reply to the new posts to
the problem thread..... Sorry.
